Free Online Timer Stopwatch

Use our free Online Timer Stopwatch to measure elapsed time and record split laps accurately on mobile or desktop.

Press Start and the timer stopwatch starts counting right away. It works in any browser on your phone, tablet or computer, and there is nothing to install.

Tap Lap whenever you want to save a split. Each lap shows your total time so far and the time for that lap alone, so you can see straight away whether you are getting faster or slower. Runners, swimmers, speedrunners and cubers use it to track every lap and solve.

The stopwatch works from your device's clock rather than counting ticks. If you switch tabs or your screen dims, it doesn't fall behind. Come back and the time is still right.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the stopwatch keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. It works out the elapsed time from your device's clock, so it stays accurate when the tab is in the background. Just don't close the tab or the browser.

How do lap times work?

Tap Lap while the stopwatch is running. A new row shows the lap number, your total time and how long that lap took on its own (shown as +MM:SS). The list keeps growing as you add laps.

How do I reset it to zero?

Press Pause first. The Lap button changes to Reset. Tap it once and the time and all your laps are cleared.

Can I save my lap times?

Yes. Under the lap list, tap Copy to paste your laps into a message or spreadsheet, or Download CSV to save them as a file. Your laps also stay on the page if you reload it.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is nothing to download, no account to create and no subscription.
