Free Online Egg Timer (Soft & Hard Boiled)

Boil perfect eggs every time with our online Egg Timer. Use 6 minutes for soft boiled, 8 minutes for medium, or 10 minutes for hard boiled.

This is an egg timer that opens ready to use. It's preset to 9 minutes (09:00), and you can change the time with Edit if you need something different.

The ring around the clock gets shorter as time runs down, and the time left also shows in your browser tab. When it reaches zero, a chime plays, so check that your volume is up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time is the egg timer set to?

It opens at 9 minutes (09:00). Tap Edit to set any other length, from a few seconds up to several hours.

Will the alarm still go off if I switch tabs?

Yes. The timer goes by your device's clock, so it stays on time in a background tab. Keep the tab open and your volume up. On some phones sound won't play while the screen is locked.

Can I use it fullscreen?

Yes. Tap Fullscreen for a large, easy-to-read countdown on a TV, tablet or classroom screen.

Do I need to download anything?

No. It runs in your browser on iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows and Chromebook, and it's free with no sign-up.

Can I share this timer or put it on my website?

Yes. Tap Share to copy a link (it includes any custom time you set), or copy a short code that embeds the timer on your own website or classroom page.
